Liquor, drugs, cigarettes, cigars, fedoras, and smoke filled rooms are all just stuff. And stuff does not make one a man. You want to be a man? Then be responsible for you and yours. Find a good woman and be a good husband. Have kids with her and be a good father. Take care of and be responsible for all that is yours. Protect your family, provide for your family, LEAD YOUR FAMILY. That's what makes you a man.

I believe the most important thing the OP said is simply that men don't meet in groups anymore, and I think we suffer from it as a gender.
Having an "honor group" with a code and morals and standards of behavior (whatever they may be... It doesn't matter) is one of the things that consistently reinforces masculinity in our society.
Men are more isolated now in their little suburban fiefdoms where they are surrounded by wife, daughters, mom and mother in law more than they are surrounded by brothers and friends.
They are letting women define what should be masculine instead of letting men as a group decide. The male group think currently has no worth in society.

Smoking is a really big deal for you, huh?

I've said it before. There is a direct correlation between the rise of FB and social media and numerous concerning trends.
Obesity, laziness, and the general wussification of men not being the least.
:golfclap: for OP

The MC world is one of the last bastions if what you're saying we've lost as a society.

I don't disagree with this.
But, you were all over the place on this, brah - you should have outlined this shite first - then started typing.
The more you write, the better you will get at it.

Obviously you aren't a member of a club. Metairie, Orleans, Bienville or otherwise because what you are describing still happens quite often.

So, I don't know you as a poster and noticed you for the first time on the F&DB last night when you posted that one of your favorite things to do was to go to HULU and troll the fat and lame women who don't like a contestant you like on Masterchef.
Is that the manly behavior you are talking about?

Criminal thugs who intimidate outsiders, degrade women, and engage in physical altercations with made up opposition groups? Sounds like the last bastion of true gentlemen.

BOOOOM. The OP isn't a man. He's projecting his own weak character on others to make himself feel normal

Sounds like you've watched too much TV and don't known shite about the real world other than your gay-assed hipster latte sipping circle of fellow cock suckers.

I'm talking about men just generally being men. Talking like men. Smoking cigarettes, cigars, pipes. Meeting together in groups, free from any outside malevolence. Being together in an estrogen free environment, smoking or drinking or doing neither; just conversing
Lots of groups like that in the hood.

I'm talking about men just generally being men. Talking like men. Smoking cigarettes, cigars, pipes. Meeting together in groups, free from any outside malevolence. Being together in an estrogen free environment, smoking or drinking or doing neither; just conversing. My grandfather talks about these sorts of conversations often, and I've never even seen one. He talks about meeting around a newspaper, a common issue, a problem. I've seen that here, but not in the way he envisions. In his stories, alcohol and cigarette smoke are in the air. Pipes. People speaking French because it was God's language to them. Reveling in tradition, culture and close relationships.

ETA: sounds like you're not happy with your own situation, OP.
