It seems various weight loss and nutritional products seem to be the big thing in multi level marketing right now. In my area all the soccer moms are trying to sell essential oils saying they are basically a cure all. In the past week I have seen several people selling a product called Thrive. It is a weight loss patch, shake , and pills. One of my wife's old friends is saying how it has changed her life, is making a better person etc. Today is her fourth day on it. What is wrong with people that get involved in these schemes? It is some kind of cult?

Some people will do anything to make money while avoiding having to work 40 hours a week.

I have a Facebook friend trying to sell Plexus Slim. She's nowhere near as annoying as the Mary K fanatics, but that being said weight loss shakes and such can be dangerous.

The Advocare thing is hot right now.

A neighbor of ours (who I've met about twice) out of the blue one day sends my wife this Facebook write-up about how much weight she's lost and how great Advocare is.

Included with the post was about 8 pictures of this chick in her underwear. These were close-up shots of her arse, stomach, and full body shots too.

She then puts the obligatory "all I need is your $$ and you can have all this, what do you say?"

My wife just responded with "My husband says thanks for the T&A."

Never heard back from her.

I know a guy who got in on the ground floor of this and he makes bank. He doesn't sell the shite any more, or even recruit people. He just goes around giving speeches to other suckers.
