As long as people have water people will be fine. Going 3-4 days without food isn't going to kill you.

What about cigarettes, booze and crack?

I think we will see and hear about some of the best and worst in humanity. Last year, our flooding in La. affected maybe 500,000? I can't fathom the numbers that will occur in the coming weeks. I think it's going to be biblical.

Our democrats aren't as helpless as louisiana's (but it's increasing).

Some of those Louisiana people coming to help its neighbor might take offense to that comment.

The ones worried about luxuries can sit and stew.

Booze and cigarettes were everywhere after Rita from all the stores that got flattened.

Crack not so much.

All of Houston is not flooding. Just like it wasn't all of BR last year. It will be business as usual in many places.

My boss just sent me a text not 10 minutes ago "Can people get to the worksite tomorrow?"

(I live 5 minutes from the site)

My response. "Half the city is flooded..."

So Friday? People will starve by Wednesday

We have to accept that even in our first world lives that horrible suffering happens sometimes and cant be addressed

Can't tell if serious? lol I hope not. You don't freaking 'starve' in a couple of days.

If it's raining, you have free clean water.

As said, this storm will bring out the best and worst in people.

This pic reminds me of what happened when an ice truck showed up in the parking lot of the WalMart in Bogalusa about 3 days after Katrina.

Damn near started a riot.

I think work will likely be out of the question for a large part of Houston for the next week at a minimum.

You can go a month without food, but only 3 days without water.

As long as they have water to drink, they will not starve.

If you listen closely, you can hear the pitter-patter of democrats making the run from Nola to H-town with visions of fema payments dancing in their heads
