Was anyone affected by Square crashing today?

Been down 8 hours so far. No one can access money, transfers or take payments or even see their merchant balance. Pretty crazy. I'm sure it's screwed a lot of small businesses over today. A lot of people only have one point of sale service.

I always found square to be a big hassle and we only used it sparingly

Hopefully this is a wakeup call to the increasing numbers of small business that put "NO CASH" signs in their windows.

Yes, I was at 3 separate businesses. fricked me pretty good all day today. Employees were not able to clock in to log hours and my registers were interrupted mid shift by a restart. The entire thing is a clusterfrick. I dont really care anymore, the government takes all my money anyway

Just so happens I work for a local small cc processing business that can beat the brakes off Square’s rates and we DON’T crash!! You can do better!!!!

I already use one for CC processing. I use Square strictly for POS and Payroll. My businesses are more cash focused regardless

I use Square mainly for invoices and scheduling. The scheduling ap is still working.

I don't think small business owners understand how much going with the recognizable brands for payments shaves off their bottom line.
However, especially when you deal with businesses with little to no IT or payments expertise, they are subject to vendor lock in, because they use the payment system for scheduling appointments, etc.

square doesnt make you sign one of those "small print" contracts.. easy for most small business. money can be accessed immediately if needed
