Ummm what? Can you explain how Shell/Exxon/Chevron are "raping people at the pump"? Are they just being nice now that people aren't being "raped"?

Gas is being made for cheaper than any time in recent history and they barely lower the price at the pump. USW has picked the fight this time because refiners are making a killing.

So in a time of record profits, you demand more? If the bottom fell out, would you gladly revert back to what you had before?

You just keep drinking that cool aid and go hold your sign. USW ain't nothin but a big corp themselves looking to make a bottom line.

No shite. I have said all along it is one shady corp against another. Everyone takes the protection of the union and all they do is just bitch about it. Be a man, nut up and say you talked a big game and got called out. It is a bitch move to take someone's protection and then get mad when they ask you to do something.

No doubt. I think the raises would have been 4/3/3 with a basic extension.

Just heard a "rumor" that 270 Union workers at Deer Park have crossed back in. This comes from someone who's staff at Norco & locked in. Don't know if it's true or not.

Not a bitch move I never supported usw I've spoke out against them for years only reason there here's because they bought out pace. Alot of our employees are afraid to speak up abt it. I always have. I have enjoyed no such protection. Quite to the contrary I feel less safe at work knowing some of the ppl who have gotten there jobs back. sorry id rather not get pimped by usw. I am not anti union just to make myself clear I am all for the right to collective bargaining.

Probably not I'm sure there are better. I am actually looking into it now. I could rep myself to be honest have done so in previous employment. But to sit here and take this shite cause they want to raise there base is not honorable. It goes directly against everything most union buffs preach. If you would like to continue paying these goons go ahead if its what you believe in. Go look at there financials all the money there taking in cant even get y'all decent strike pay if you order you a copy you will see why.

It was confirmed by the Deer Park president at the 750 hall in Norco Tuesday night that about 10% of the 800 or so workforce crossed.

Dude you seriously need to educate yourself. You do realize what a small percentage refining makes up of major oil companies right? Exxon for instance derives less than 6 percent of its earnings from refining and selling gasoline. They earn about one-third of a cent for every gallon of gasoline and other refined products sold in the US. Compare that to the 30 to 60 cents per gallon collected by the Federal and State governments. Shell downstream brings in roughly 7% of its total revenue.

Refineries had a good Q4 last year but as you can see, that is not enough to keep Shell anywhere near where they want to be. This is pretty obvious when looking at EVERY major oil stock right now.

It's hilarious that you think these oil companies have so much control over the price people are paying at the pump. If that would the case gas would never dip in price!

Umm you said

on the other hand people are defending big oil companies that are raping them weekly at the pumps

Typically when people use the term "Big Oil" they are talking about the majors like Exxon, Chevron, Conoco, BP. I have worked in the upstream side for quite sometime and have literally never heard someone refer to Valero as "Big Oil".

I'm still failing to see how any of these companies were "raping people at the pump" and why on Earth they just all of a sudden decided to stop "rapping people." Maybe they had a change of heart, who knows
