Just met lagniappe09 and turned the lab over to him to live the good life!! Thanks everyone for the help and thanks lagniappe09!!

Found this dog running down oak st near selu. I can't keep him and there is no info on his collar. I have posted on our neighborhood Facebook and on lost dogs of tangi. I really can't keep him for very long because of my other dogs, so if anyone would be willing to take him that would be great. I've already been to the vet, he isn't microchipped. Humane society won't accept until Monday, and pound is closed until Monday.

This was the collar contraption he looks like he chewed through. It doesn't look like he gets much attention.

Looks in good health and his coat looks good. Hope you find the owner and if not hopefully someone wants him. You are a good guy for taking care of him though. Good luck

maybe call local vets office and see if they could identify him somehow? Probably have to bring him up there.

Would contact local vets offices and local kennels to see if the dog has been there for shots / checkups or boarding. Maybe put up a sign at the closes dog park also?

Awesome of you to take him in ... PLEASE don't bring him to the pound if it's a kill shelter.

Your vet might be willing to board the dog for a few days. That would be better than going to the pound.

Just an update, no one has claimed the dog. It will be going to the pound tomorrow. I have done my due diligence and posted everywhere and checked with the vets in the area. I can not keep him, I have 2 dogs and twins on the way. If someone will take him that would be the best situation.

shite.

Is there a no-kill shelter you can bring him to? Seriously, I know you can't take on another dog, but there has to be someplace other than the pound you can bring him.

I have a black lab so this really hits home. If I were anywhere near you I'd come grab him to keep him out of the pound.

Could be that he was on a back yard pulley cable and it burned through the leash

If having him snipped is the only thing stopping someone from taking him in, I'll pay for the damn thing.
