You are the same sort of person that wants to ban alcohol because they don’t drink.

You're leaping here, I don't want to ban anything. I didn't say anything should be banned. Stop being an internet dramatist. Tube if you want. I am simply saying I thought they stopped doing it in Livingston a while back. I've been tubing, it can be fun. I don't get the appeal of doing it in a gross muddy river in LA.

The river is pretty low, it’s less than 15ft at DS.

My first ex-wife almost drowned when tubing in one of those rivers across the lake from N.O. We had been married about 2 years and went with a bunch of friends.

She slipped off the tube trying to avoid one of those log jams mid river and the current took her right to it and pinned her under the water. I jumped off my tube and went down and pulled her out. That was the last time she ever went tubing it scared her so bad.

Yep and both deaths resulted from tubers NOT being on their tube. Likely not able to swim either.

It was a 52 yr old man from Deville, LA.

“Dispatchers were told a male tuber went underwater shortly after launching from Tiki Tubing. Detectives learned from witnesses that the male was off [of] the tube and got into waist-deep water. He slipped down and struggled to come back to the surface. LPSO & our First Responder partners responded. All attempts to revive him failed,” Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard told WAFB.

The sheriff identified the man as Elson Johnson, Jr., 52, of Deville, La.

This is the same one from a month ago, based on the link. Unless there have been more than one in the past month?

Edit - never mind, damn, it’s another one.

All rivers are dangerous to some extent. There's current and snags to get you. Stay on top of the river and you're ok, but when a river is swollen by rain, it's usually best to stay off it, especially if you are just in an inner tube.

How do people brown. If you're stuck in the tube , you should float. Rip to that person. Tragic
