the best thing I've heard today.

My wife is a PT for early steps...great program. Stick with exactly what you're doing and the little guy is going to do great!

I think we parents are paranoid about the development of our kids.

Definitely, but less so with our son. He's our second kid. We have a daughter who will be 4 in August, and she was a little late in some of her milestones as well. Crawled at 10-11 months and walked at 15 months. It was stressful wondering when she'd finally reach those milestones, but she eventually did it when she was good and ready, and she's a perfectly normal almost-4-year-old.

Ever told the nurse to remeasure your kid's height because the kid wasn't extending himself?

Funny you mention that, because he's in the 25th percentile for height and weight (and the 95th for head size ). At his pediatrician appointment last Thursday, they took a sample of his blood to make sure he isn't anemic. It's one of those "we'll call you within an indeterminate amount of time if we find anything in the test." So, we're waiting for something or perhaps nothing. Gee, thanks. I'm not that concerned, though. My daughter was short and underweight as a baby too. They just didn't get my tall gene. (I'm 6'2" and wife is 5'0"-ish).
