No, Cork, my friend was Shelby Holmes. He was an ex-employee of LSU's SID, and at time of death, asst. manager of the River Center Box Office and statistician for the McKinley football team.
He was shot while walking home from work (which he did most days.)
I pray that somehow, some way, the person responsible will be found, but after almost 2 years, I feel less confident that it will happen.

They were reclined in the living room when someone knocked at the door, Patin testified. "I cracked open the door, saw faces that I never saw before, tried to close the door," Patin testified.
The group of about six young men outside began kicking at he door, and as he leaned against it, he noticed the jamb begin to break.
This just reinforces the idea to make sure your doors at are secured and reinforced.
Prayers for you man, condolences for your friend and good luck in the future.

I hope this is some closure and pray that you can somehow find peace.

And then you have been made the villain. That's what our world has come to. And now, as taxpayers, we will pay to house, clothe and feed these worthless animals for decades, while our tax dollars pay for repeated appeals, dragging the real victims through painful experience after painful experience reliving the horror.
Cork, what a terrifying tale. A lot of admiration from me man. And complete and total disgust at these thugs whose momma obviously bred at least 3 more times than she should have. I didn't read the whole thread-was she there to tell everyone what good boys they are?

It may be harsh but can we just eliminate their entire bloodline? Seems like there is something wrong in their DNA that the world would just be better off without.

It's funny to come to work and see this thread today. Not haha funny. I've been dwelling on death all morning, I don't know why. Sometimes I can't shake it.

I remember reading about this on here when it happened. I didn't know they never found the shithead that did it. How horrible. I'm genuinely sorry for your loss.
One of my two best friends growing up was murdered four years ago. They caught the guy, but he has yet to go to trial. Though he is doing 10 years for assaulting a prison guard and breaking a light bulb (dumb motherfricker pleaded guilty and got sentenced as a habitual offender). Stabbed and shot my friend, in his home, then burned the house down around him. If I could get away with it, I'd kill him myself, long slow and painful. But alas, I have too much to lose to do dumb shite like that. It sucks because it feels like a little piece of my life that died with him.
Cork - you are a stand up guy. It sounds like you saved at least one life by not opening that door, which took serious balls and shows that you are, in fact, the kind of friend everyone should have. You've lived through serious shite, and I hope you find some peace somewhere in the whole process (it sounds like you have/are).

Broke the arm I got shot in and had surgery on, so I'm going to have to have another surgery sometime in the next month. I lost my job because I'm not able to do physical labor, so pretty shitty honestly. Thanks for asking though.

I wish I could find one, but with no degree it's hard to find something that pays anything close to what I was making.
I'm trying to get on disability or unemployment for the time being.

I try. I know everything will shake out, I just feel like I can't catch a break.
On the upside, at least I'm not losing my mind over another continuance. Xanax helps lol.
