United Airlines is being criticized again after a classical violinist says a gate agent in Houston attempted to "wrestle" her 17th-century violin away from her.

Yennifer Correia, who was on her way to play a summer season with the Missouri Symphony Orchestra, accused the United employee of "lunging" at her instrument Sunday as she tried to board a flight to St. Louis.

Correia had hoped to carry the violin on board instead of checking it, according to a statement from her attorney. The incident caused Correia to miss her flight and her first rehearsal with the symphony. She is also concerned about "possible damage to her hand from the attack," her attorney said.

She seems dramatic. I wouldn't want to check my violin, either, though.

She shouldn't fret over it.

I hope her G string is okay.

So she's just stringing us along?
Her story sounds like straight fiddle-faddle to me.

Most of the "elite" musicians that fly with their instruments pay for the seat next to them to be occupied by their instrument.

I've flown on a flight with the seat in front of me occupied by a cello and the passenger next to them being the cellist.

I doubt that, after all this negative publicity, United is still resorting violince.

You're correct in one sense. If she's a professional musician them she doesn't get a "payday" if her hand is too fricked up to perform.

What happens if the violin gets involuntarily bumped and they have to call the cops to beat the shite out of it when it doesn't move?

That alone made me instantly switch to United's side. Pull the audio-video. I am doubting this was unprovoked.

On a related note..how pissed would you be if you were bumped from a flight only to see a fricking musical instrument chilling in it's own seat?
