People want universal healthcare here, our government is the largest provider already, but they won’t want to cut out drinking, tobacco and processed foods.

We say that, but heck, the government here unilaterally moved tobacco age from 18 to 21 and nobody really said a word.

I get your point, but the problem is the slippery arse fricking slope that comes with that. Cigarettes, okay. What's next though, alcohol? Fast food? Sugars, carbs, etc.? next thing you know it's shite like "hate speech" and shite like that. Once that single inch is taken, the miles down the road come into play.

If that’s what makes them happy, good for them. Not every country needs to be like the U.S.

Interesting. Where does the government come upon the money that it can so magnanimously "foot the bill"?

The Mulsim overlords in Scotland have already started passing, and enforcing, their version of "hate speech". They are banning the things you would expect Muslim leaders to ban. Scottish Progressives and OT Moderates are thrilled at the freedoms they have lost.

Poor diet kills far more people than tobacco.

You good with the UK government rolling in and banning sugar, fast food and processed oils?

My point was that it won't actually be hate speech (thus the quotations). It'll just be shite that the government thinks you shouldn't say.

Is a jail sentence in England. Call someone a racial, ethnic, sexual or religious slur and you will go to jail.

It's why I cannot stand actual racism in any form, but I will one hundred percent debate and fight for those moron skin heads and black panthers rights to peacefully protest and spew their vile, putrid message.

If we as a people cannot defeat actual racism in the marketplace of ideas, there are far bigger issues than could ever be solved.
