Yup. Where I used to live a cab fare downtown would run me $12. No way would I use uber if that's the minimum.

This is UberBlack, for the OT ballers who like to ride in style.

Hopefully UberX isn't far behind for us poor folk.

The cabbies may hate the city council but the owners who donate sure being protected.

A majority of the cabbies don't live in orleans parisg and can't vote. The concern is not for the drivers but for the owners bottom line.

It looks like for UberXL and Black they are only allowing pickups in Orleans Parish. As of now the territory in which we (I drive for UberX) can operate has not been decided. They have not figured out if Kenner will be the border etc. They are hoping to get us live before the end of the year but with the city council there is no telling. I was allowed to drive last weekend in Baton Rouge for the ULM game and made $240 for less than 7 hours of driving with 10 total trips.

Any first time users can use code TTLTC for up to $20 off of their first ride, just enter it before you request a ride. For anyone interested in driving in Nola or Baton Rouge use the same code when you sign up and we both receive $100 once you complete your first trip. ;-)

You're so full of shite. With your code, rider receives $20, and you only get a $5 bonus.

Uberwhodat driver gets 1 free ride up to $30 and I get 1 free ride up to $30.

I just thought about how easy it would be to sell drugs if you were an Uber driver..

Re-read what I typed. What you mentioned is for riders which I mentioned. The $100 bonus applies when you use the code to sign up as a driver.

It is $50 after completing the first trip if you did not use an existing drivers referral code. If you used a referral code you and the driver who referred you would each receive $100 after your first trip.

Has nothing to do with votes. The cabbies hate the council b/c most of them are self employed. They don't want to have to incur the expense that the reformed regulation will cost.
