The reason I know is b/c me and my bud just looked up prices. He is thinking of buying mine.

2011 KR F-250, with 60K.

Hang on and I'll find an example.

I spend a lot of time in a vehicle. And most of the time, I hate that I am in it (traffic, long distance travel, tired, etc). It's a small price to pay to have the luxuries of life in there with you. Yes, that means heated/cooled seats. KR leather. Spacious interior. Etc.

Yeah, all the low-mileage ones we found are already gone.

Most are in the $38-40K range, but all those have way more miles than mine.

Link one has half the miles, and just because someone is asking it doesn't mean someone is paying it.

No one is buying that one for $51k when they van buy a brand new one for $54k.

Tahoes are really over priced. I can get a lot nicer vehicle for the same or less

Talked to a dealer about that... He said they have no competition that's why they're priced so high...

Closes competitor is the Expedition which they outsell 9-1, next is the Sequoia, which they outsell 23-1...

I picked up my '15 Silverado LT, last July for 35,720. MSP was 45,720 with 10k off in incentives. The LT and LTZ Z71s were in the 50-60 range which I think is nuts.....They were nice, but frick that...

ETA: Also, no one is paying anywhere near MSRP on a 1/2 ton pickup.

Why is this the norm with American truck brands? Are they just trying to make people think they are getting a good deal?

I get that most dealers will haggle, but you seem to regularly hear about people getting $5-8k below sticker on truck purchases.

Car prices in general are ridiculous though.

Toyota does the same thing. You have to work a little harder, but you can find them $7k or so off MSRP (Not Tacomas, just Tundras).

It has gotten out of hand. But people pay it. I for one would love to have a king ranch f250. But I'm not paying that much for it. I'll drive my 2004 f150 till the wheels fall off and buy a truck with low miles that is 4-5 years old when I have to.
