definitely a must. i'm thinking more about the seats and other surfaces of the truck. they cover all the doors and shite in that soft leather. i don't want to have to take a shower before getting into my truck

So don't buy a Platinum. They still make an XL if a nice high end truck is too girly and too expensive for you. I'll never understand people complaining about the price of the most expensive version of something. You can get a new f150 for just over $20k to do regular truck stuff.

maintenance is more on the 250 but I'll never drive a half ton truck again after owning one

Same here. The insides are getting a bit ridiculous. I thought 50k was pricey when i bought three years ago (sticker was $59K) now the same truck is knocking on $70k sticker.... not sure where this is going to stop.

I wouldn't pay much attention to the MSRP. I bought a new 2014 FX4 Screw with an MSRP of north of 54K for right at 40 before my trade.

Not sure about Louisiana dealers but I bought mine at Nalley Ford in Atlanta and they were ready to make a deal.

with prices the way they are i just don't see getting a 1/2 ton even though it would suit my needs 90% of the time

That's a really ignorant thought process. Especially since you have access to a heavy duty truck for the much more likely 1% of the time you'd actually need it compared to the half ton.

I don't think you know what yuppie means. I don't know many young urban professionals driving trucks.

Really? Cause I sure do. Not in NYC, but elsewhere, definitely.

You've never been to central Houston, Dallas, Austin, or Atlanta?

You'd probably be surprised how many people are paying similar for car/truck notes, and for 72 months. It's insane.

58k for a truck, that is insane.

I was curious about the new Dodge EcoDiesel but the cost analysis to the Hemi or even stepping up to the Cummings doesn't make sense.

No doubt, I can't get past the bottom line number on the window sticker personally.

If you're trading in a 5 year old identical truck those are still worth 30k or so. That 55k is a good number to use for new Lariat F-250 so you are basically financing 25k if you pay tax, title, etc out of pocket.

$450 note

I'm somewhat in the market too. No way I'm paying $40K for a truck. Luckily, there is lots of negotiation room in trucks. Except maybe Toyota.

maintanence and repairs on the diesel years 5-10 could be few thousands alone if anything goes wrong. Subtract that thinking, and 25k becomes a more likely 18-20k number.

There is actually a group of people who don't want this, I think that's the whole point of this thread.

I hate my 1/2 ton as a daily drive. I can't imagine how terrible a 3/4 is. That combined with these prices is enough to make me want to buy an old beater 250 and park it then get a car for daily use.
