This wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting

Guy on WAFB just said if you're in Denham or Watson you can come out of your safe space
No threat of tornado
No threat of tornado

Guy on WAFB seems annoyed with the broad warning. Kind of rolling his eyes.

Just stopped hailing. Crazy how isolated that can be
Posted on 4/30/17 at 8:54 am to meauxjeaux2
I'm a little north of you in watson, no hail.
Posted on 4/30/17 at 8:54 am to Pelican fan99
Yeah. Not bad here in CCL.
Posted on 4/30/17 at 8:55 am to meauxjeaux2
Yeah no hail in Tigerland; now a light rain; still plenty lightning/thunder.

New warning, relatively strong rotation compared to the rest of the line

Downpour just started in Prairieville (I10/73).

NWS crying wolf this morning, IMO.

Pea sized hail do about 5 minutes mixed in with very heavy rain. Almost done here.

In New Orleans. Supposed to be at Saenger theater at 11:15 for my kid to meet DanTDM. Hoping we get inside before the junk hits.

I don't know about that because the weird thing is how there's almost no wind. The trees are completely still

It's gust "potential". It's just an algorithm.

Pretty much done here in CCL

Yeah they took the lazy approach, but, to be fair, Jackson had individual warnings all over the place and rotations were moving between warnings. I think they just said "screw it, we'll warn the whole line in BR."

Am I allowed to depart my safe space once 9:00 come?
Posted on 4/30/17 at 8:59 am to GEAUXmedic
Well then no algorithms in the Prairieville area.

I don't think I've ever seen a NWS office do a blanket warning with a tornado warning. Usually they just do a large severe thunderstorm warning and mention there could be some tornadoes in it.
