No one is stating that your son is headed to a path of destrution because you're a single dad. If religious and non-religious are going to agree, they will have to focus on data and outcomes in the general populace.

With that said, if a gay couple wants to adopt a child and they raise it in a happy home and give that child what it needs while growing up, what business is it of anyone and why would you assume they would be terrible parents?

Why? Because marriage is sacred bro! Why should gays and lesbians be allowed to partake in this utterly sanctimonious union of souls to then wallow together in misery before eventually using man-made laws to get divorced?? Clearly only men and women together as one can raise a normal child.

just play non-practicing Catholic. It's easy to do..

Also kinda need to if you want your kids to go to Catholic school.

I go to church functions and all, and have been to a few masses in the last year.
Atheism, never comes up nor is it expected. But when you start talking to people in these religious communities, you get the sense that you aren't the only one hiding.

a bigger gripe with single-parent households.
I would call it more disappointing than a gripe, but I do think divorce and out of wedlock children is generally bad for the kids. A good marriage takes work and I think we create too many excuses and seek the eject button way too easily.

Yeah...I miss out on that so it means I pick up the slack at home.

I don't think there's any question this is true.

When you start playing games this way you are actually acting as if the institution of marriage has no basis independent of your own arbitrary whim. That is crazy to me.

I am all for gays being allowed to have a union and tat union being recognized but to call that action a marriage is crazy.

I'm pretty sure that Stash was once the Governor of Colorado. He'd be perfectly happy if we allowed gay marriage, only if we designated gays as "Butt Buddies" instead of "married."

Because the definition of a word can never change in the least bit. Weakest argument ever. Stash needs to watch the south park episode and realize that the world is laughing at him for being so simple minded.

You being Atheist isn't like you're waking around with a scarlet letter sewn on to your clothes so I don't see the big deal.

well the issue is that the non-religious can't even say they're non-religious if asked. you don't have to be a showboat whiner for it to become a big deal. in a religious state like LA, it is hard (not impossible) to avoid the discussion in general

and once people DO find out, you basically are discriminated against more than any other group in the USA (which i think has been stated in this thread previously).

As stated, these are media links. Most of the articles link to study results. It doesn't take long to click or research there are numerous links you can follow, if you wish.

Of course. My father passed away when I was very young. I turned out ok, if I say so myself.

We're talking about the highest indicators of success. Great people can come from broken homes or non-traditional marriages. However, the highest likelihood of a child's success is a healthy family.

I have no problem if two gay people want to join as a UNION or whatever, but please don't try to call it a marriage. That has always been between a man and a woman.

Like I said, I have no problems of two cock sucks joining together in the past. Just don't try pushing your bullshite ideas on me and everything will be fine.

Why couldn't a gay couple be a healthy family?

is your life going to be ruined if two gay people join in a union that is legally recognized as a "marriage"?

is your life even going to be inconvenienced in any way?

I think the "seperate but equal" thing is worse than what others are saying.

"go ahead, have yourself a union guys, isn't that cute??"
