You don't care if people want to change definitions of words just on a whim?

How did this guy find out? Ok, which one of you went and spilled the beans on our fabulous plan? I knew one of you silly gooses would go and spoil everything!!

People scream it from the rooftops, because that's almost always at the heart of this whole thing. In your face.

I don't keep up, what word are they trying to redefine? I always thought marriage was a union between two people?

it happens everyday, its a fricking word. this issue isn't about a word, its about two people who want to be as unhappy as every other married couple, and i guarantee there's not one person who is against it that is realistically affected by this. people just need a reason to be outraged and pissed off.

and the govt. should be wasting their time on more important issues...

Evangelicals need something to fear monger about that hits close to home.

As usual, Louis CK explains this issue perfectly...

This is just one example. It is pretty shocking that gov't is stepping in to private enterprise and deficating on their beliefs for the sake of "tolerance". Photographer in Portland, more than a few bakeries across the country, and on a larger scale, Hobby Lobby.

More and more it is looking like religious conservatives are becoming the oppressed.

I would think that from your humanist perspective, you would at least be concerned with govt stepping in to oppress individual liberty.

If politics would get away from social agendas, things would be accomplished better.

Where can I sign up to be part of the nearly 90% of the American public that has nearly 100% of all elected officials? If that level of representation can be oppressed, I'd suggest you're doing it wrong.

Try being an atheist in South Louisiana, Champ.

Government shouldn't be involved in marriage period. I'm just laughing at all of the fear mongers rabble rousing that the government is going to make them be around gay people.

That I agree with, but since you tainted it with that last line I couldn't agree there.

I'm all about private property rights, so the idea that the government can tell a private business it HAD TO serve anyone bothers me. Gay, black, white, straight, etc. If a business owner wants to discriminate against a group, fine by me! Hopefully someone with more sense opens up next to them and picks up the market that guy is losing...or doesn't, whatever. But if we value freedom, then no private business ought to be forced to serve anyone.

I have gay-off with deet to keep the gay off me.

Not worried about being "around gay people". I'll say it again, more concerned about govt controlling the beliefs of private enterprise. Business owners should have the right to conduct their business according to their beliefs. It boggles my mind to see govt dictating how private enterprise is conducted.

As marriage is traditionally related to religion. I personally would like to see no government involvement in marriage. Married only in the eyes of your church/God.

And less gov involvement in every aspect of life as well.

boggles your mind that something that's been happening for hundreds of years continues to happen?
