I know nothing about here places other than they're in the middle of bum-frick West Texas, and they're oil towns.

How would you describe these places?

What are the critical pros/cons to them?

What are each like?

If I have to move to Midland for work, should I off myself, or is there a way to make the most of it? If so...how? What hobbies do I need to pick up (besides meth)?

First and only question I have to ask is who did you piss off at work because you need to apologize to them immediately.

I think Tim McGraw lives there. Has a son who is the RB on the football team.

Can I get a nice house with some land for a decent price nearby and just hideaway there with the family for a few years? It'd only be temporary (if it happens).

Sure, but they are still overpriced due to the oil and gas fields.

Lived in San Angelo for a good while. The very windy comment is correct. West Texas is land of extreme weather. Pretty much either 110 out or freezing with sleet and hail. No cities or towns worth a shite are nearby. 3.5 hour drive to San Antonio, 5 to Austin etc. Good dove hunting around and alright whitetail if you find a good lease
