Chinese crawfish also can be grown with chloramphenicol, which is an antibiotic used for growth enhancement and is a known carcinogen in humans.

and, I have. I'm very careful about ordering dishes anywhere with crawfish in them. I rarely order any crawfish dishes other than bisque and from reputable places who serve it of which there are few. I can't recall when I've ever ordered etouffee in a restaurant.

It's a different breed.

Try to get Spanish crawfish. Same breed, and a couple of Cajuns went over to Spain to start it all up.

Same taste sad LA and the price of Chinese.

same here. I won't eat them because they taste "off" like they were boiled in port o let water.

I must have bad luck compared to some in this thread but I have tried them 3 times in FL bought from different retailers and each time they were disgusting.

Ended up having to bite the bullet and have some shipped.

I always thought the Chinese Crawfish had a ditch water mud taste to them that LA crawfish don't have.

This. All day long. Chinese tails do NOT taste the same. Came here to mention the Spanish tails and mention the same benefits.

Real answer: they taste a little dirtier and not as sweet

They'll work in a pinch, especially to those that can't tell the difference. But for those who can, it's there

Yeah, that's the sewage they live in and animal feces the Chinese use as "food" for the crawfish
