It's a decent city but 8 days just there may be a bit much. Have you considered taking the family to Baltimore for the day and maybe Philly for a night.

you're a sick bastard ... maybe he loves his family ...

One of my buddies lives near 4th and H and he pays well below $1500 for a large 1 bed/1bath. Ive lived here for my entire life.

Well thats literally 4 different intersections in D.C. and they would vary greatly in price

I've been here for awhile now and haven't seen a 1BR / 1 BA ner that price for a while

True

There are some good deals to be had but in general the rent here is through the roof....

Where do you usually watch LSU games?

Now. Have you been to the Washington cathedral? It's pretty amazing .

The National Cathedral got pretty messed up in the earthquake that the area had a few years ago. Should be awhile until it's fully repaired assuming they get all the money but I doubt that will be too difficult.

Usually from my couch or over at someone elses house.

We generally take turns hosting between a group of friends up here.

I have been to Old Dominion more times than I care to admit though

It truly is the best family vacation. Everything is free, transportation via the metro is cheap and easy, the attractions are world class and it is all educational at the same time. I used to live there and loved it.

DC was a shithole when I lived there as a kid, and it was still a shithole when I went back a couple of months ago. Worst cops, worst traffic, worst people in the US.

Sure. Let me take my 8 day old kid on a trip to DC right now. OK.

The state of Maryland has the most oppressive cops in the US, but the MPs on Andrews are just a different breed of thugs.

You mean The National Cathedral? It's really a beautiful sanctuary but it's so ornate that I have trouble listening to the sermon.

Just go on a random weekday and hope the organist is practicing. Absolutely amazing.

Visit highest court in the land, if they'll let you. The justices' gym.

Enjoy the stay and God bless this great country.

I'm spoiled to have grown up in the DC metro area. I really had no idea how good I had it until I lived in other parts of the country. My first fall at LSU was a complete culture shock after living in NOVA
