re: Best RB in SEC history not named Bo Or Herschel? - Monticello
I will take McFadden. I remember his 80 yarder against Bama as a true freshman.
Yep. Stiff armed Roman Harper to the ground. [link=(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWuSTvRROho)]Video clip[/link]...

re: How many 5 stars could your defensive unit potentially start? - Monticello
Crazy. When I was in school there in the mid 2000's Brodie Croyle was the only 5 star on the team. Then Andre Smith came in 06, but until 2008 that was it. Not a single player drafted in 2007....

re: Why is Tennessee so important to the SEC? - Monticello
I understand history and all but people in my age group (those in their 20's and 30's) don't get the "respect" factor. I don't see why they are such a big deal.
Same thing someone in your age group would have said about Alabama in 2006. Or USC in 2000. Or Michigan in 2014. It'...

re: Big 12 to push with expansion? - Monticello
The common thought has been that the other Texas schools would block Houston, but now it is looking more like it may be the 6 non-Texas schools blocking them. And it makes sense. Almost all of those schools rely heavily on recruiting Texas and all 6 of them already believe that the State of Texas in...

re: Big 12 to push with expansion? - Monticello
The Houston metro area is surrounded by SEC schools now; sandwiched between A&M on one side and LSU on the other. That is not to say that UT has been locked out of Houston by any means, but over the next 20-30 years it would be easy for Houston to gradually become as much of an SEC city as Atlanta....

re: Big 12 to push with expansion? - Monticello
I have a honest question for you folks who keep talking about how attractive Taco Tech is. What makes people outside the old SW Conference and B12 think they are special? They really have never won anything. Never won a B12 title, never even the South title. Lubbock is hard to get to for ...

re: How many Championships would LSU have if Saban stayed in the NFL? - Monticello
2011 is the only one I can think of. And they may still have lost to Ok St if Jefferson played that poorly. The other years LSU had more problems than just Bama. ...

re: Big 12 to push with expansion? - Monticello
if i were the big 12 i would make a strong push for arizona and arizona state. they might laugh at you but why not?
The Pac 12 is far superior in every way. Plus both schools are heavily dependent on southern california recruits. That will never happen. Like you say, a more real...

re: Big 12 to push with expansion? - Monticello
Because not playing on Sundays is a pain in the arse in other sports.
Which is better for the B12? Adding the only available Power 5 level program in the nation and figuring out how to not schedule them on Sundays, or add a shite school that can play on Sunday? BYU is the only scho...

re: Big 12 to push with expansion? - Monticello
yeah for all the problems i have with the SEC it is great to play in a conference where the majority of your opponents are also fanatical about football.
Totally agree. When you have 13 (maybe 12) passionate fan bases, you are going to have a lot of fighting between schools, but ...

re: Big 12 to push with expansion? - Monticello
The B12 has very few options, so there is no sense in harping over what they should have done, etc, but let's just ponder over what the B12 would look like if they make this move. Can Texas and OU fans really be happy with this football schedule? Texas: traditional power Oklahoma: traditional po...

re: Big 12 to push with expansion? - Monticello
Cincinnati would be a great get for the Big 12 IMO.
Given their limited options I would agree. I think they could become something similar to Louisville. And let's face it, how much longer can they leave WVU totally on an island over there?...

re: Big 12 to push with expansion? - Monticello
in the end i see OU, Okie Lite, Texas and Texas Tech leaving. The remnants of the Big 12 combine with the best of what's available to form a new conference. Similar to the Big East becoming the American.
This is what should happen, but I don't know that it will. It makes way mo...

re: Big 12 to push with expansion? - Monticello
If they get byu football only they should be a lock.
Why would they want BYU football only? BYU consistently has one of the highest directors cup standings in the nation. They would be in the top half of the SEC most years. And they do this without the backing of a major conferen...

re: Big 12 to push with expansion? - Monticello
BYU Cincinatti Colorado St Memphis
Those are the 4 I would take as well. BYU is a legit expansion target right now. Given the limited options, the other 3 at least add markets and have good potential to grow into decent Power 5 level teams over the next decade. Cincinatti an...
