I hate my generation but I'm not taking shite from people who push paper with bland bachelor degrees and have managed to hang on to that existence.

Huge swaths of my parents generation are just as worthless.

I've yet to meet a millennial with this mindset.

I let one go recently before he finished his 90 day probationary period. He was already trying to rabble-rouse about not getting paid enough despite his degree. He had zero experience and we were having to train him from the ground up. Entitled pussy with no work ethic, but all the expectations that come with ambition.

What do you do? I feel like I need to come work for some of you just to prove that millennials exist out there that do not have entitled mindsets and are capable of working hard.

Why? I don't hate Millenials. And besides, when I was the same age as yall are now, I could not afford much of a house either.

IDK. It kind of seems like you are fricking around on the Internet to me.

Not reading the entire thread, so maybe this has been pointed out.

I imagine you could do this in the 60s and it would be the exact same

I was talking about housing costs/expenses with my father not too long ago. He is 68. I am 35. When he was my age, his housing costs where around 10% of his income. Mine are closer to 25%. We live in comparable neighborhoods and size homes.

Admittedly, I did not do an in depth analysis. However, it would not shock me at all to find out the comparative cost of housing is much more expensive today than it was 30-40 years ago.

Weren't houses generally smaller at that time also? I could be wrong.

this will likely continue forever. the number of people needing houses is going up much faster than the number of houses

I thought Obama was forgiving all student loan debt? Why should that be a factor?

O.k...you aren't willing to live in Detroit. Looks like you won't have a problem buying a house there.

The conundrum of Boomers vs Millenials
- Demand that I go invest $50K or so in a College Education or else you wont hire me
- Refuse to provide training, require I obtain experience in addition to the college education I've received through internships or work studies
- Expect me to work long hours, be available 24/7 via email and phone, and produce immediately with little to no instruction because I've already had my internship making copies or pushing a broom.
- Offer me a salary thats absurdly low for the requirements you've given me
- Bitch about my unmotivated work ethic.
