On a related note, the Tesla museum in Belgrade is worth a visit.

Not nearly strong enough to be worth it. Otherwise generators wouldn't need to bother including their own magnetic fields. And you would still need some process to spin the inductors, which is the most expensive part of generating electricity.

A giant tesla coil is not feasible nor safe, and most power is used by electric motors which requires the 60hz frequency the grid uses for rotation

Supposedly he actually did. It was broadcast from a tower like a radio signal.

He supposedly had an idea for a machine that could control emotions in humans. The tin foil hat folks say that the US Military has tested in on suburban populations in the Colorado area or some sh!t I think.

Geez, that experiment is on Youtube.

If life ever finds you in Hot Springs Ark., check out the Mid-America Science Museum. They have a great program that details the Edison/Tesla competition. Well worth the time.

There is a belief that the whole Tunguska event was Tesla testing one of his wireless electricity inventions.

Wireless signals carry very little energy.

Trying to beam wireless energy from A to B would be a little more than hair-raising.

Edison wanted DC power, Tesla wanted AC. Edison proved the dangers of AC by using it to kill an elephant.

That was only a drop in bucket of the shite that Edison pulled. Westinghouse bought a lot of Tesla's patents and hired him as well. Edison tried relentlessly to scare the public about the 'dangers' of AC. Not only did he fry that elephant, he electrocuted many animals trying to associate AC with death. So much so, I'm pretty certain Edison and his partner were behind the first electric chair execution. He wanted the electrical executions to be termed something like "getting Westinghoused". Edison was a ruthless bastard and somehow got written into history as a some great inventor.

The Wright brothers themselves screwed over aviation by claiming to own the patent on every airplane. It's why Germany and Europe was so far ahead of the US in 1915 in aviation. We still had Wright flyers and they had Biplanes.

I just watched that american genius. The wright bros' litigious ways really fricked everybody. Curtiss was making all kinds of cool shite trying to avoid the patents though so at least there was that.
