- That's not true. High Voltage DC (HVDC) is used to transmit power between grids (i.e. long distances).

You are correct about HVDC transmissions lines.

So much so, I'm pretty certain Edison and his partner were behind the first electric chair execution. He wanted the electrical executions to be termed something like "getting Westinghoused". Edison was a ruthless bastard and somehow got written into history as a some great inventor.

At the time, prisons were looking for a different means of execution as hanging was considered midieval. They were offering contracts to anyone who could come up with a better solution. Edison basically "auditioned" using DC on an electric chair and fried the frick out of the poor guy in a live test in an epic fail..the public basically hated Edison and JP Morgan for it.

IIRC, right before this was when Tesla and westinghouse were awarded the Niagra falls energy contract using their AC current beating out Edison/JP Morgan (DC)

Wireless Power Transmission is making a comeback, and most current experiments revolve around transmitting at radio frequency or microwaves, which are both non-ionizing radiation.

Resonant Inductive Coupling is being used to transfer usable energy over distances of several meters in the MHz range. None of that is particularly dangerous.

We know it can be done and it has been done widely for years, efficiency is the main problem.

IIRC, Tesla labs were lit by wireless fluorescent tube lighting. You just carried the light tube wherever you needed it.

He also invented radio remote control and about a 1000 other things.

Napoleon, you have your facts screwed up...

Edison invented DC, which can only be transmitted over a short distance. It would have required power stations every mile or so.

Tesla invented AC, which we use today, which can be transmitted over much longer distances.

neither AC or DC were
"invented" they were discovered and everything you posted is the same as what I posted. Lol

If Tesla "won" why is it "ConEdison" and not "ConTesla" that powers New York currently.

Maybe you should understand what you are saying before you say "screwed up"

Weird- my Tesla P85Ds all run on DC.

I thought it was funny too, but DC makes more sense for battery applications.
