Back story:

1st grade teacher is pregnant. She told all the parents at the Meet the Teacher event in August, but now she is starting to show. We told our daughter that Mrs. Teacher has a baby in her tummy and she asked how it got there.

Without going into grave detail about the process, we told her that her teacher and her husband decided they wanted a baby and decided to get pregnant.

Like 1st grade children do, my daughter went and discussed this at school. Another parent wasn't too happy that we didn't clear our discussions with her. My wife was fuming because this woman was yelling at her calling her a bad parent.

Were we wrong or is this woman just crazy?

Total overreaction on her part. I could see her being upset if you'd gone into graphic full-on detail of how a woman becomes pregnant but the way she reacted this is absurd.

Which means our six year old knows about "Santa." If it wouldn't create drama in suburbia, I'd tell my daughter to make sure this bitch's knew as well.

Now this would piss me off as a parent. Hey fine if you tell your kids, but don't have them frick up every other 1st graders Christmas fantasy. I mean 1st grade like 6 years old. Come on.

I had this exact same thing happen to my son when he was in first grade. Had to tell him the kid was crazy, and didn't know what he was talking about.

I would just let it drop and write her off as crazy. If the woman keeps it up or if your wife can't let it go, email the teacher and cc the principal. Parents are supposed to bring such concerns to the school instead of confronting parents as it creates more drama for the school when stupid people can't play well with others. They would then contact her and tell her to address her concerns to them instead if you. If she's a crazy helicopter mom, she wouldn't dream of messing with the principal as he can limit her access to the school.

Idk if that was intentional to try to rile me up, but I don't disagree. It's not rare, but it's not as common as they say IMO.

She cray cray. Should tell that mom you told your kid that getting pregnant is what happens when you bite your fingernails and swallow the eggs in the dirt from your fingernails.

Um, I'm a mom ... did she expect you to clear your conversation with your daughter with HER??? That's ludicrous. You answered your daughter how you felt appropriate and kids will talk. Had you said "don't discuss this at school" wouldn't have kept her from discussing it and I don't think it should.

That mom is nuts.

Exactly. Is she expecting the OP to get a village consensus on acceptable responses before speaking to his daughter?

OP, I hope your wife has moved from upset to pissed off and let's that nosy B have it.

Yeah, give us the dingbat's name and let us handle it from here.

Oh, and be sure to clear it with her before you take your child to the movies....you know, to make sure it's appropriate movie for your child to discuss at school.
