Louisiana has too many public colleges. But McNeese isn't really one of the ones I'd even consider ditching. Not while SUNO, Grambling, or SUS exists.

- Southern University New Orleans and Southern University Shreveport probably both need to close down or merge with the local community colleges. Release the administrators and move the instructors and students to either SU main campus or to the local community colleges. This needed to happen decades ago.

- Grambling's existence makes no sense with ULM and Louisiana Tech both being nearby. I would close Grambling, release all of their administrators, and move their resources to the main Southern University campus in Baton Rouge and ULM. Maybe try to sell the campus to the military or some other employer.

- LSUA needs to convert to more online instruction to reduce costs and boost enrollment. There are barely 3,000 students in the entire college now. CENLA just isn't growing unfortunately.

HBCU's or universities with a majority of black students won't be touched. In our current times it just wouldn't be looked at objectively. You'd also have the alumni throw a fit while they do not donate a dollar or support their Alma mater past wearing a shirt

This was always the political third rail. Several years ago someone floated the idea of reducing the number of regional universities or at least making each of the regionals specialize in one curriculum to Eliminate the ridiculous redundancy around the state.

It would be easier to repeal the second amendment. These little fiefdoms are unfortunately entrenched in Louisiana

Start a new thread instead of bumping a five year old thread.

There already is a thread about the $4 million. He might need a timeout to think about what he's done.

Great points and why a friend (RIP T.R. Gambrell) turned down business opportunities in major cities to stay in Lake Chuck. He did pretty well with his vending machine business back in the day.
