Regional colleges exist to educate kids and non-traditional students who can't afford to quit work and spend 4 years in a Baton Rouge. Certainly shouldn't be a lot of duplicative programs, but nursing and other more vocational degrees should be offered in every region.

I'm not even going to justify trying to explain McNeese's existence to some of you dumbasses.
However, I and a lot of other people got a damn education from McNeese. I graduated with minimal debt and I make decent money. I work with people who graduated from LSU, Southeastern, UL-Lafayette, Tulane, Loyola, Nicholls, UNO, and several more. I can assure you, we all learned the same things and everyone for the most part is on equal footing.
I'll be in Baton Rouge next weekend proudly wearing my Blue & Gold and representing a fine school that I'm glad to call my alma mater.
Now, you can go frick yourself.

Yeah, colleges exist for more than just engineers and nurses. Most employers want anyone in supervision or management to have 4 year degrees now, just to start. That creates a big need for these universities, even for retraining or older returning students that want to get ahead. Now that everyone has seen what a huge rip off most online universities are, there should be a focus on capitalizing on these schools.

I agree, it's pointless and should go.
If only for the reason that it encourages people to stay in LC. Why would you live in LC?
In fact, if you don't live in BR, NO, or Laffy in LA you're basically in a 3rd world country or one of those rapists in diliverance

No wait....given the number of dumbass "attorneys" who post on this board, I retract that.
Aside from maybe SFP, there isn't a one of you that I'd hire if my life were at stake.

LSU, Class of '90. Had a decent practice for a long time, raising 3 kids (2 are in college). I write checks for higher education, unlike most on this board.
I hope you never actually need a lawyer, you arrogant little prick.

We got a loop, mother fricker.
(And $60 B of expansion )

McNeese actually has a pretty big endowment for it's enrollment. Especially when you compare it to ULM, NSU, Nicholls.

Yea while other cities are crying about what oil prices will do to their economy we are on the cusp of the biggest boom any city in the state has ever seen along with the largest investment by a foreign-based company in American history

It's good man. Just a bunch of people on here obviously insecure about their LSU degree....

I have a LSU degree and I still have a high respect for Mcneese. Lots of friends and relatives have done very well with their degrees. Doctors, lawyers, nurses, school teachers, engineers, etc.
LC is on the way up too.
I'll take light traffic, great fishing/ hunting, lots of jobs, good schools, nice community and low crime. It's a good place.

It's always amazed me that even the ghettos in LC aren't nearly as bad as other areas.
Oak Park is a good example. Still plenty of old white people living there and a street or two over is trash but the two never seem to clash that often.

Was just referring to the people in here who put down everyone who didn't get a degree from LSU.
If an opportunity equal to what I have in New Orleans opened up in LC, I'd be back in heartbeat.
