Ben Weprin, 37, founder of AJ Capital Partners in Chicago, will oversee the renovation of the 88-year-old hotel in the Garden District. It’s scheduled to open in June, Forbes reported. “Dude, the history of New Orleans is amazing,” Weprin told the magazine. “New Orleans is just f—king cool. Lil Wayne grew up around here!”

Gentrification might help New Orleans a bit, but housing costs will keep rising.

I was also surprised at the number of new apartment buildings.

I'm trying to rent out a 1br in the French Quarter now, but tons more apartments available now than in the past.

Ah yes, because when I think of the proud, storied musical history of a place that gave birth to jazz, I think of Weezie.

Detroit had a strong push of young white people move inside the city?

The problem is these young folk will be moving away when it's time to send their kids to school. Bad schools and a weak white collar economy is not much of a recipe for long term growth.

Nola people dont move baw. The young white people moving back into the city are alot of kids that grew up in the burbs of Metairie and Kenner. It is popular to once again to live in the city. They will simply send their kids to the same private school they went to

You are a dumbass. That was an industry that drove them in and the industry crashed. There is no industry bringing people to Nola. They arent going anywhere. Even life changing hurricanes cant drive Nola people away for good
