What does this have to do with the nonsense you posted? You posted New Orleans is trending to Detroit. That entails extreme drop in real estate, extreme drop in population, and extreme drop in the economy. The exact opposite is trending

The last time I "stayed" at the Pontchartrain, I had a very delayed flight in from Chicago. They sent me to my room, and it had a baby play pen, room was ransacked, and had trash littered all over the place.

I went back down stairs and said there was a mistake, and I was informed it was the only room they had left. Tough shite.

New Orleans has no crime problems. Not even close to the worse in the nation. Sigh.
What does this have to do with anything? No one has argued that.

I'm referring to the belief that NO is on its way to be a world class metropolis of a city.

NO will always be known as the city with Mardi Gras, murder, and violence.

Your highly scientific survey of hotel amenities in the NOLA area is devoid of direct correlation to the link between NOLA and Detroit. Baw......

Link to this?

We are talking about the mistaken belief that NOLA is the next Detroit.

It is stunting NO growth. And with out proper leadership NO will never prosper.

Is it the next Detroit or not? Are you arguing with a ghost poster that nobody else can see?

Maybe read the title of the thread.

The last video I saw of a youth in NO he was being shot in the stomach for trying to save another youth from being raped.

Also I personally know 2 "youth" who have been robbed at gunpoint in the French quarter.

As far as crime is concerned. Yes. Nola is in the same ballpark as Detroit. Which will forever stunt its growth and potential as a great city.

I will agree that current and past "leadership" has had negative impacts to our prosperity. Nobody has claimed that NOLA will be "world class". It is and will continue to be a "richer and nicer" city than pre-katrina. There are still problems, many of which you have alluded to.

I live here and I am not leaving, that alone puts us 2 notches above Detroit (and Mississippi)!
