When was this in the 70's when it was the new school? They had a good stretch back then but haven't done anything in ages.
The Lee Hedges days. Great Coach and an even better man.

Centenary Oyster House as well.

that's where the high end older poon went. I was still a little young to get in there and at 16 or so had to settle for getting drunk at Mama Mia's which looking back was the Double Douce for high schoolers and young collegians. Flaming Dr Peppers at Sports Pub were pretty big too. I think Shooters was where Ivan's is now. Nickel beer Tuesday. Memories was a few years later. Sad place, ripe with Cougars before that was even a thing. I also remember Enos or something on Centenary.

Going to Hamel's to get your milk through the drive through with old Mr. Hamel waving and saying hello to every one as you passed by.

When Hamel's had a zoo they had a chimp named Buddy that would sling poo, and his Chimp butter at his admiring fans. That was one nasty arse chimp.

For several years in the early 1970s, KMBQ broadcast easy listening programming (a.k.a. " elevator music"), with the slogan "Your Beautiful Music Station". In 1975, KMBQ abruptly (and shockingly to many older listeners in this Bible Belt market) changed its format to Album Oriented Rock (AOR), operating thus from 1975 to 1985.

Awesome station.

Going to the original Strawns when some of the people who have their pictures painted on the wall still worked there.

I remember when the walls at Strawn's were covered with pictures of the local soccer teams which leads me to....

Cabosa, SFC, USA playing all of their soccer games at LSUS on weekends.

Deli Casino anyone? There still any Nicky's alive and kicking?

Someone mentioned Dominic's. Place was really good, but I had a lot of buddies who worked there and said that Dominic was a real dick to work for.

Also, anybody remember when they had that rubber duck race on the Red, and somehow most of them missed the finish line trap and ended up sending a couple hundred rubber ducks down to God knows where?

Deli Casino is still here, run by the same older couple who've had it for decades.

There is a Nicky's on every corner. I haven't been to one in years, but someone must love them.

Remember when it was called Shreveport Sports before Jumbo Sports? Got all my shite there.

Also does anyone remember 92.1 "The Buzz" in the early 2000s? Was a good competitor to 98.9 but is just all of a sudden went away in about 2002.

I recently found the A-Train album "Live at Humphries" at the Half-Priced Books in Dallas. Was etched by the small record label that used to be on Kings Highway.

Shooters was on King's next to Murrell's. You had to up your ID game from Mama Mia's to make it in there as well. I believe Woody's preceded Ivan's on Marshall. Fat Tuesday's was a place we would go in high school in that area for $5.00 all you could drink on Thursday nights.

What was the name of the place in the CBD that had quarter pitchers on Saturday. Place was hopping in 1990-1992 era but was busted for underage drinking.
