I had a sandbar shark swimming about 10 feet away from me in Destin last week.

I never see shark in seafood stores anymore. Did it fall out of favor some how? Pretty good eating.

Just got back from OB (stayed @ Perdido Resort about 200 yards from that pass/bridge.). We couldn't get in the water on Sun or today. On Sun AM we were told that there were. "Endangered sea life" nearby & we couldn't go in the water. I don't know if it's b/c my coffee hadn't kicked in yet, but it never hit me that they were talking about sharks - well, not until we watched the news that night

I'm going end of July. Staying just west of the pass. Should I bring my poles?

My family did the parasailing thing in Panama City Beach. Saw about a half dozen sharks in about 10 minutes. There are more than you think, usually cruising parallel to the beach a few hundred yards out.

I used to snorkel between the first and second sand bar. Most people would flip their shite if they knew what was out there. Sharks and rays just doing their thing. The rays have always scared me more than anything.

Definitely rode the jet ski all up in there last year

Absolutely. That' point leading out is my favorite spot to ride my SeaDoo. Smooth water leading up to 6-8' waves = big air.

I've seen sting rays cruising literally right along the shoreline in Destin before.
