Cool man. What does that have to do with sharks? Florida is sharky as hell. You get in the water, you're swimming with the sharks. So get in the water or don't. 99.9% chance it won't matter, but if you do get nipped it will probably just be a few stitches anyway. People get bit over here all the time, especially further south towards the Cape. It's just something you have to accept as a possibility, much like getting into your car and possibly being run over by a tractor trailer (which is about 100x more likely, BTW).

Fla is gatory as hell too. Just cause you do something unknowing of what's there doesn't mean you will continue if you knew it was there. I'm not swimming to no damn sand bars if that means i'm only 10 yards from shark food...

jellyfish are usually really bad in August.

they were when I lived on Dauphin Island.

i'd guess they would be over there in Orange Beach too.

No. They ARE there. That's the thing. They absolutely are. Spinners and blacktips are everywhere here. Just don't get get caught in the middle of a bait pod and you'll be alright. Sharks have no interest in people. I've seen people jump over sharks to get in in New Smyrna. It's really common to see them down that way. No one bats an eye.

In salt water, away from inlets...no they aren't. Near an inlet....MAYBE. But still probably not. If you're so afraid, just don't get in the water, man. I just hope you don't drive an automobile or even go outside because you're more likely to be struck by lightning than to be bit by a shark.

I'm guessing it's a great white shark.
