You could say that about any state. Let's say Louisiana. Weather sucks, very little landscape, no beaches...

Let's not forget the Corp welfare LBJ lavished on the state, the culture of Enron (stealing) dating back to the founders. Blatant racism, oh yeah they are less than half the size of Alaska.

And the worst part, the fing Arrogance....

Texas seems like a miserable place to live, IMHO. Bland, characterless urban sprawl and a dimwitted, backwoods population...no thanks

Jobs are great

Traffic sucks

Never ending work on highways sucks

Knowing that money going to actual infrastructure improvements is good

Oh yeah.....it is also great that public schools are not a lost cause in texas

Lived on the Westbank from 86 - 04.

I recently flew in my mother from MSY to DFW and by the time we got to my home in North Dallas she convinced herself she wasnt leaving.

Why do people love this state so much?

Other than the idiots who live there, who loves it or ever said it was great?

There are a few spots, ask the Google machine. At least 2 food trucks have a great poboy.

I'll have to check some more. I tried the Turf and Surf Poboy truck at Barton Springs Picnic. I did not care for it.

MSY certainly doesn't do any favors to people's first impression of NOLA. I flew in for work from IAH in Houston this week and it's just depressing around the airport. Whereas IAH is in a very shitry area of Houston but still is nicer.

Are airports normally in nice areas?

I wouldn't want to buy a nice home and listen to jetliners scream all day/night.
