San Antonio, TX. We had a unit recall to make sure we could contact everyone if we had to deploy to LA. I was set to fly to Vegas for another job, but that was put on hold. Half of our office went to the airport in NO. They were sent to monitor the health of the Nat. Guardsmen that were out in search and rescue ops. I stayed back and my wife and I opened our home to a couple of her friends from college that were working in LA. They stayed with us for about a week and a half.

My dad's got a house out there nobody lived in. We watched the waves blow across the lake and drank all his scotch.

That place lost some shingles, but nothing major.

Trees were all over the street.

Hotel room in Alexandria. We left last minute and drove up around midnight. We woke up and watched the news in disbelief.

Watching large trees leaning way the hell over out my front door all day and wondering if we were going to have a house left (we did). It was a week before I knew anything about New Orleans or Waveland, Biloxi, Gulfport, etc. and I sure felt like a wimp over that worrying.

Renting a 5 bedroom home just outside Disney World for the evacuation. :inBeforeDisneyHaters: I think we were in the parks when the storm hit. Went back to the house to watch the news for the next 24 hours...Father in Law's house on Bayou Lacroix in bay Saint Louis got 33 feet of water...luckily he came with us.
