This has been pretty standard for a while now. Most of these hit pieces involve cases that happened forever ago, but this particular article includes laymen in the overall number, such as teachers, office workers, etc. Not just priests. If we labeled every public school worker who hooks up with a minor as a Protestant, which I would wager they almost always are, the number would be 100x higher than the Catholic Church, and from much more recent occurrences.

I attended a “ grandparents lunch “ with my grandson at a Catholic school. Memories were brought back at how good the cornbread was when I went to school. I attended Catholic school through twelfth grade.

Thanking the kitchen supervisor for such a great meal I asked for the cornbread recipe. They called me back and said that they were not allowed to share it.

I called for Aymond and spoke to his assistant. Told them it showed without question how secretive the Catholic Church was.

Asked her to tell Aymond that if he wouldn’t give up the cornbread recipe how in the hell could we think he would give up the kid diddler’s.

The recipe was e mailed to within an hour.

they should send these type of priests to the Vatican and hang them.

The current Pedo Pope would cover for them.

I'm sorry, but accused does not equal guilty. Maybe he ignored the accusations that weren't true. Just a thought

I'm honestly out of fricks to give about these accusations. If a priest did something to a kid last week, I have a BIG fricking problem with that. And if the Church covered that up, I'd probably question my faith. But these are 30,40+ year old accusations. Half the accused offenders are dead and can't even answer to the charges. Aymond and all the "old guard" should retire and let's close the book on this dark chapter and be done with it.

Seeing priceless paintings and statues piled up in corners because there wasn’t enough room while half the churches members globally lacked sufficient food and access to clean water was just too much for me.

I’ve been thinking the church probably needs another Lutheran-style reformation to root out the corruption.

Not fully disagreeing with your post but it’s statements like these that make me almost resent the Catholic Church. That other denominations are inferior. I’ve never fully understood that kind of thinking. The closed mindset.

What has to be investigated is do these men become priests because they are already phidofiles and it gives them greater access to kids or do they develop into abusers after they become priests.

There’s a strange dynamic for the religious. Jimmy Swaggart preached against fornication constantly and then started frequenting prostitutes on Airline Highway in Metairie. Priests preach about morality and sin, and abuse children. And it isn’t just Catholics. This is a big problem with all kinds of religious. It’s like the more you think about some sin like that, the higher the chance you will do it.

I’m a life-long Catholic but I totally get what you are saying here. My mechanic and his wife are members of a small store-front evangelical church and the very small church group has a van and at night they drive around Acadiana checking on the homeless and providing small meals and medical care. They have the most beautiful and simple faith of Christian service I have ever seen.
