I'm with nurse on this one. You still barely know that person.

frick the loop. I stayed in college 8 years and I was done with the loop. I grabbed a smoking hot chick and moved to San Francisco. We ate ethnic food and enjoyed exploring somewhere new. It was pretty epic.

7 years in, you are not. You can enjoy each other's company and not have to fill every second with conversation.
neither one of us demands attention or anything... And we can just hangout and not sit there and have to entertain. Sometimes just being around her but not really engaging each other is still satisfying. Sometimes it's just nice and reassuring that someone that loves you is there with you but they don't have to be all up in your shite.... We have a good balance.

i disagree with you saying I don't know this person. I'm sure you are wise enough to know every situation is different, every relationship is different. I have been in relationships 3X as long but wasn't near as close or felt like I know them as much.... I get what you are saying but just because it's less than a year doesn't mean I don't know the girl, that's silly. We are best friends.

Me and my wife pretty much keep to ourselves but we don't like people. I could go the rest of my life without talking to another human and be content.

Still.....honeymoon stage

I could totally move to a foreign country with just my husband and see it as an adventure. I get jealous watching House Hunters international where couples do that for amazing job opportunities.

That being said....we wouldn't spend 24/6 with each other. We both have to have our own space or we drive each other crazy. This would motivate us to make friends and find activities to he involved in.

You can be part of a social scene without having to stay where you grew up at.

If anything....you learn to make friends with people you truly enjoy, not just because you have always been friends with that person.

We did. Once you know someone for many years, there's only so much to talk about, but she will bug the crap out of you about not talking to her enough if you don't make time. Me, I enjoy my SO's company to where I am happy just being around her, but not having to discuss WW2 or the meaning of life all the time.

If you want to make new friends, join some social groups. If you both play sports, join a league for softball, kickball, frisbee, etc. That's an easy way to make friends and meet other couples.

No doubt it's still the honeymoon stage and no doubt we would find other activities, but it's no issue for me and her to hangout and her watch hulu while I put my headphones in and podcast. We are content with just being around one another and not having to be up each other's arse....

Guess I'm saying that even though it's a short period, i feel that I know this girl more than I have in past 10 month relationships and the fact that we are each other's best friends by a loooooonnnnngggg margin, I think we could do just fine being the only ones on a island for a decent period of time without being put off by the other.... Maybe I'm naive and it's only because I've only experienced the "honeymoon" stage.... Or this is just people that are making excuses because they don't always get alone with their SO

So when does the honeymoon period end an I can say for sure "yep we are best friends and could spend a shite load of time together without wanting to choke the other"??? Because I haven't had any two relationships that were anything alike so putting some random time period just seems silly to me...

Sorta... Altho that isn't the story. She just doesn't understand the OT and thinks it's a bunch of fricking idiots.... I have to sorta agree unfortunately..

Spend 15 years with her and come back and say you really knew her at 9-10 months.

I am not saying you can't know if she is the one or not because hell 30 year marriages fall apart sometimes, but there is something much different than a new relationship as yours and one that has grown through the years, just part of the changes and adjustments you have to make to become a stable couple.

I would hope your current relationship is better than previous (even a lot longer ones,) otherwise you really aren't learning from your mistakes.

Actually, it sounds like she's got a pretty good handle on it.

i get where you are coming from but to say you can't know someone in 10 months is just foolish...

And people change A LOT in 15 years.... So yeah the person you knew at 10 months isn't going to be the same person in 15 years. especially if she hits menopause or some shite like that.

We can ask B in another 4-5 years
