I have to agree with SS from the beginning of this thread though.

We spend time apart because things sometimes just happen that way (one person is busy or something), but I wouldn't say we need it. It would hurt my feelings if someone who works full time and does other personal errands would need additional time away from me. My parents are apart when they work, so when they are off, they don't want to spend time apart.

I do though!

I grew up mowing yards and doing yard work for extra cash since I was 10.

considering our back yard is a small patch of grass you "mow" with a weedeater it's really not difficult. I also help rake leaves in the back and pull weeds. He trims all the shrubs though.

Doing dishes is women's work? How'd you handle being single, just eat out every night?

The fake machismo around here gets old. I iron, better than my wife I might add, dishes, vacuuming up the pet hair, and do all the guy stuff outside. I also cook and occasionally do the dishes and laundry. What makes you so above that stuff?

He just comes off as a big douchebag.

We have a lot of insecure males on this site. "I don't do the dishes, that's a woman's job. I don't do laundry, woman does that."

When I was married one of the early issue we had to deal with was I had never lived on my own. I went from living with parents to grandmother while in college to married.

I quite literally had never "learned" to do housework and I was definitely a shitty husband early on because of it.

That has nothing to do with why the marriage ultimately failed, but I had a lot of growing up to do when I got married.

Now I have been on my own for a while, and I know I will make a much better SO to someone when that time comes.

Nothing insecure about it, my wife's job is to keep up our house and raise our kids

Wasn't targeting you specifically. The ot is filled with macho men who can't do the dishes or laundry because it might take away from their manhood.
