When I'm really comfortable & happy with life & them, silence is ok.

don't you need to lay down good conversation and flirtiness to make sure you get to frick later?

I'm starting to see why you've got issues with the ladies.

No kidding, being married means you like the person beyond trying to work an angle to get sex.

i get where you are coming from but to say you can't know someone in 10 months is just foolish...

Dude...you said it yourself that you haven't been in many long term relationships. Don't call another person foolish who has had way more experience than you. I can back him up. You may think you know this person, but most people don't truly open up that soon. It takes a while to get past being polite and saying whatever the hell you want to the other person.

Louis C.K. said it best...You truly know someone when you can tell them your deepest racist thoughts.

Do you fart in front of her? That's a big step.

i feel that I know this girl more than I have in past 10 month relationships and the fact that we are each other's best friends by a loooooonnnnngggg margin

Marry the girl then, that'll show the OT how serious your relationship is.

If it is a big city you can use meetup.com. They have meetups specific to couples looking to meet new people. It has been great for my networking and meeting new people since I moved to Denver.

It got mighty rapey, mighty quick here, is there a back story I'm missing out on?

My SO wants me to move to Portland where I would be leaving my friends. The disadvantage should scare me but it doesn't, maybe if she had a big cackle of girls it would.

i see it all the time when i'm out, couples eating in silence with nothing to say. It's sad really.

I see this too in others and it sucks. We are very comfortable with silence, it isn't weird. But it is strange how sometimes we will have nothing to say at a table and later that day we lose track of time on the phone.

Look, while you've got to keep the romance & intimacy alive in any relationship, but there does come a point where you're not going about getting sex from her in the same manner you would from a random chick at the bar.

Hell, just doing some laundry/dishes might get you some faster than flirting at dinner.
