Agreed. I'm closer and feel like I know the girl I only dated for 10 or so months better than the girl I dated for two and a half years.

I stand by it.

I think a lot of that changing over the 15 years is part of getting to know them and adapt to them. You are still very independent people at 10 months.

I agree with everything you said

But I will say EVERY relationship is different and to put some set timetable on things is silly..... I for one enjoy the honeymoon stage and want to be like those old happy couples that seem to have never got out of it.... Who is to say that the honeymoon stage can't last 15 years?... That's the point I'm trying to make

I agree

Some older couples that forgot what the honeymoon stage was like could take lessons from the younger ones.

That's just a strange premise. My wife and I could be perfectly content just talking with each other on our own.

This is definitely the first time I've ever agreed with you.

Sometimes you can enjoy each other in silence.... Just because you witness this at a single point in the night at a restaurant doesn't mean the couple doesn't communicate or unhappy..... How retard are you? Grow up.

Sometimes it is not sad at all. Some of the best meals I have eaten with my wife, we haven't spoken a word. When you just had a really bad day, just enjoying the food/each others company is all you need.

From what I have heard, when you have kids, nights out with each other like this are glorious.

Perhaps but not always. If you stay in a relationship long enough you can be perfectly happy talking over dinner but you can also be perfectly happy just being together without having to talk non-stop. For example my wife and I have been together for 17 years. We will sit and talk for hours sometimes while others we can sit quietly while saying little. The one thing that does not change though is we enjoy just being together. No need to talk for for talking's sake. Just be there together wherever "there" is.

don't you need to lay down good conversation and flirtiness to make sure you get to frick later?
