Your experience is pretty indicative of the entire NO private school social scene, I'm afraid (except for maybe McGehee). Whether its CD, St martins, or Newman, the parents are all trying to out climb each other socially. It doesnt weigh that much on the kids I dont think.

IDK, It wasn't my decision. I'm dating a girl with kids and she made a change and wanted to get the kids out. She had so many CD stories about the kids. Moved them to SLKF and they love it. The oldest is really into church and both have been students of the month already.
Had it been my choice and money wasn't an option, then yeah CD all the way.

Personally I would look into public schools, as me and the misses both went through the same system. But she is 100% against that.

I do regret not going to Jesuit, I was the first male in my family not to, and no one else did after me, ending our long Jesuit line. (My cousins went to Brother Martin, St. Stanislaus, Catholic High and my brother Bonnabel like me.

From the time I was seven it was Jesuit, Jesuit, Jesuit. But I refused to go. I regret it now.

Probably one of the Glovers, I hated them coming up.
Johnny punched a buddy of mine in the back with brass knuckles and stole his bike.

The east side is the best side. lol

Think your life would have been that much different? I don't know you, but I don't think going to Jesuit would have been a life changing decision.

I think the only Catholic school for girls that goes for 13 years is Sacred Heart and it is priced at private school levels.

Ursuline also goes pre-k to 12 and I consider it an above average Catholic with tons of history. Oldest girls school in America. I dated a few Ursuline girls and unfortunately they weren't too slutty Prob good place if you have a girl.

Eta: and I see several beat me to this

Has anyone said that Jesuit is the best yet?

Because Jesuit is the best. And it is catholic. Therefore catholic > private.

My third year at LSU (which wasn't my Junior year, lol) I had shared a house with some guys. One from Rummel, one from Brother Martin, one from Jesuit and a guy I went to HS with. We struggled on basic english and math as in our English classes we learned to play spades and rummy. I had an English teacher with 3foot nails, you think she wrote on the chalkboard?

I mean I still got into LSU, but by the time I got there I didn't care about school. I just wanted the party.

Had I had it all to do over again, I would have taken my high Asvab score joined the Air Force, then went to college.

I'm not sure Jesuit would have made my life better but I saw first hand how it better prepared people for college.

This statement right here, ironically, is exactly why he should not look into St. Bernard schools. And not because of the demographic of them.

I recognize the superiority the boys on Banks have in such a field. Consider this challenge conceded to Jesuit.

It could be the blacks taking over, or it could be because 1) St. Bernard is completely out of his way and 2) there are probably a dozen vastly superior schools nearer to him

Are catholic schools no longer considered private schools?

Thanks, I was beginning to wonder.

Private schools aren't necessarily Catholic but Catholic schools are definitely private.

We had a theater group called the Phils. The actors in the Phils will win that contest. Sorry that bro mar isn't classy enough to be able to put on a solid theatre production.
