If he really wanted to pull you over, he would have.

They were terrible about this in my home town, they would get right on your bumper with their bright lights on.

If you were out after 11 pm you were drunk until you proved otherwise.

Like your license plate light being too dark, come on man.

He was trying to make you frick up. I had a cop do the same to me, except he ran into the back of me. I got charged for DWI

That's one hell of a way to get a DWI. Did you at least get the DWI dropped or reduced to a neg or reckless driving? Your lawyer would've had a hayday with that one.

It's so comical that people think the police and government care about DWI's because of the public safety component. It's a money maker and nothing more, they could invest the time and money spent doing all the tailing, checkpoints and things on a proactive solution if safety was the #1 concern.

I got pulled over by a trooper after a midnight Mass for Christmas one time.

Good thing I didn't drink from the cup that night.

That's what pissed me off. I've got my son and two of his friends in the car. The officer, while (apparently) running my tags and waiting for me to make a minor traffic violation is creating a dangerous situation by following so close.

Just hit the blue lights and I'll pull over.

They don't even hide it anymore. The "Don't drink and drive" ads are about how "expensive" DUI's are. Not about the dangers they possess to the public.

I guess I'm a little confused as to why he was tailgating me the majority of the time? I tapped the breaks a few times, but he continued on.

consensus seems to be running plates, insurance, warrants, etc. I think he was trying to get you to screw up so he could stop you. I had an LSP trooper pull me over on Nicholson drive one night. Claimed I swerved over the line. He gave me a drunk test on the side of the road. Only trouble was, I hadn't been drinking. I was stone sober.

Had he returned about 4-5 hours later, he could have gotten me.

No. Banana in the tailpipe is always the way to go.

Thank you for wasting taxpayer dollars and "fricking around" with a cop that is trying to keep our streets safe. He might have missed a dangerous suspect as you were acting like a 14 year old.

Yes. They are.

Not acceptable but I prefer it to people driving drunk.

So I'm sure you'd support all visibly-Muslim Muslims having their bags searched at airport security?

It's called profiling, It's what good police officers do to get scum bags off the street. You're not a scum bag so you're not in jail.

Don't be such a baby, if your daughter had a stalker you'd want that cop to pull an illegal u-turn to check out a suspicious car that might be following a young girl driving alone at night.

This is where most of you go wrong.

By doing this

You could have given him enough suspicion to pull you over, just to make sure you were not a crack head looking to break into houses or cars. But something tells me this is what you were hoping he'd do, so you could dig yourself deeper into a hole by telling him the in's, and out's of doing his job.

Good plan.

Might I add, when he/she asks to see you ID reach into you jacket or shirt real fast and pull it out and hand it while moving towards him and talking in a high volume.

The like that.
