Move to Denver. You won't regret it.

Do it. If you're willing to explore other areas of the US, go for it while you're young. I managed to move down here a year and a half ago after graduating and had only been here once before. The lifestyle's completely different here, but I have no regrets so far about my decision. Good luck

Do it. You'll only get one chance

You got the wanderlust son,
It's the same old story,
Of young men uncounted,
Since we smelled that salt air,

And there ain't a damn cure,
So get ambulatory,
And strike out for fortune,
Feel the wind in your hair,

Put all you care to carry,
Inside of a rucksack,
A good coat on your shoulders,
And a new pair of shoes,

Then pick a direction,
And don't you ever look back,
It's the only solution,
For those wanderlust blues,

Take a berth on a schooner,
Stow away on a train,
Don't stay anywhere too long,
Keep moving your feet,

Spend your nights in some tavern,
Or sleep out in the rain,
Buy the booze and steal kisses,
And taste freedom so sweet,

And when wand'rin' gets tiring,
Find a good place to land,
Grab a good honest woman,
And make her your wife,

Raise a house and a family,
The best that you can,
So your last words can be,
"Man, I've lived a good life."

I've already decided that when I graduate I'm packing up and moving to Durango, Colorado.

Out of curiosity where did you move here from? And how is baton rouge different from anywhere else?

If you are not obligated to anything, then I'd definitely do it. Unless you are married or for six or seven Saturday's in the fall, Baton Rouge is a barren wasteland for the "post-graduate" crowd.

If you are too timid to make a big leap (moving to Seattle, Chicago, New York and such) you shouldn't rule out that little city one hour southeast of Baton Rouge. New Orleans truly offers a lot. A lot of people from all over relocate to this city for a good reason.

Moved here from the Great Northwest 32 years ago. A wonderful adventure. No regrets. I found a great career and have a wonderful life and family down here. One thing to consider though, is family ties. Once you have kids it is nice to have family nearby. I was fortunate my wife's family was from here, and my folks came down and visited a bunch, plus they had a place on the Oregon Coast we could go to every summer. Seattle/Portland are cool places though for young adults. Lots to do!

I had spent the four years before here at Syracuse for my undergrad, but I lived north of Philly in the suburbs.

BR is much slower placed than the northeast. If you go out to eat up there, you can be in and out within 45 minutes. Here, it'd take at least an hour, more like an hr and a half. The foods are different (italian vs cajun), everything here revolves around college football, and people just seem to be nicer in general . If you want to try a city in the northeast, I'd suggest Boston or Burlington. I know a lot of younger people in those cities that love it.

Been doing it for the past 6 years or so. I've lived in NOLA, BR, NYC, all over Texas (Midland, San Antone, Houston), and now I'm in Wisconsin.

Do it. I'm doing it right now (Dubai) and I wish I had done it sooner. Try to get on with Emerson. They have great international exposure, and you could potentially go anywhere.

Best decision of my life. Looking back I'm glad I didn't get hired in Lafayette. Packed up my clothes and moved to Seattle. I love it here

Why not Cali?
Please don't say "earthquakes". California is so awesome. Outdoor activity is unlimited year round. The climate alone is outstanding. I've been from San Fran to San Diego and much of in between and if I were single and young I would go. Now.

Where you going, Lilly? I went from BR to Houston, I had some friends in Houston. Then to L.A. where I knew no one, but had accepted a job. Then to Boston where I knew no one and didn't have a job. Found a job in a few weeks. Then back to L.A. Plotting my next adventure as we speak.

I'm still in school, but I want to do this so bad.

Guess I'll have to wait a little while longer and finish up first.
