Mate, get yourself a Giant Schnauzer - that's my next breed. To get the sire flown in from Germany for breeding you're looking about about 2K but that more than makes up for it down the road when you have a healthy purebred with not concerns of some of the inbreeding trends

I own two GSP's from champion lineage that cost me $1500 for the male and $1700 for the female. Worth it. But, I hunt. If you're spending that much for a dog that eats scraps and you watch shite in your yard, you might be an idiot.

I've got more than that tied up in my hunting dog but it's more of a tool than a pet

$60, and she was kissing me within 20 seconds of walking into the Jefferson parish shelter. As sweet natured of a dog I've ever been around and very affectionate.

Upfront costs are really immaterial to overall costs to own a pet. That's if you are a responsible owner.

I would not own one of those cat hybrids. Too many wild tendencies I am told.

My wife and kids just ordered a dog from a breeder in Washington St, takes 9 months for them to ship it to us. We won't get the dog until July. Cost of the dog and shipping is a little over $2500. It's a tool for me to get them to stop bugging me for a damn dog. The deal is, it's their dog, it's their damn dog. I'm not walking, feeding, or picking up any shite.

I have a friend who has 2 large rescue dogs. He didn't pay for them, but he goes on vacation a lot and routinely spends $80/night to board them. Probably about 4 days per month, or even more. Combined with food, that shite adds up quick

That's exactly why I would own one... it would be a great pet for the family that raised it, but for other people, watch out

May have to buy the neighbor a new dog every so often, but other than that, I am sold

I love English bulldogs but I want to fight idiots who pay $2000+ for them. They are guaranteed to have problems. I can go get a beautiful Husky or Golden Retriever for $500
