I physically couldn't until just a couple years ago(after vasectomy you don't give a frick). It's impossible to explain to people who don't share that phobia/condition.
One little divider makes all the difference in the world. It's nothing to do with dick sizes or anything. It's purely a mindfrick b/c you are afraid of not being able to start peeing. Very weird to you lucky fricks who don't have it.

Its just weird that there would be an open bathroom with 6+ urinals/toilets, and people at times choose the one immediately next to me. I would rather not piss standing right next to someone if I can avoid it. Also, yes, there can be piss splashed all over.

Pisses me off (pun intended). On the rare occasion I have to take my son to take a dump in a public bathroom I'd appreciate all the lil peckered fellas at least lift the lid while you pee instead of getting it all over the seats. Disgusting micropenis slobs.

It has to do with being able to relax and just go. Completely in their head about not being able to go. I hit the stalls from time to time for exactly what you're describing. I'm a high stress, wound too tight mfer sometimes.
Of course I hit the stalls when people like you are looking over their shoulder all doe eyed about wanting someone to shoulder up to also.

What is worse, are people who use a urinal next to me when there is clearly one open that isn't... We have 3 at my work and there is this one guy who will use the middle one when I am in there and it is fricking weird.

If there's a urinal or two in between myself and another person, I'm good to go. But if there are 3 urinals and I'm stuck between two dudes, I get the stage fright condition. I can sit there with it out, so it has nothing to do with being scared of that. It just won't start flowing. So if that's the case at the urinal, I'll keep walking to the stall.
