The worst is where Burgess merges into Florida Blvd in walker. I want to count punt every single person who stops at that yield sign.

Roundabouts are a nightmare. If you do not know of this nightmare, come to Hammond and experience the experience.

only when people don't know how they work. otherwise they are better than stop signs.

Do you pull over when a funeral procession is coming the opposite way...?
Never experienced that until I went to Southeastern...

That's what I meant. Apparently folks over here in Hammond America can't quite figure it out

So maybe some doing this are from out of state where that is the law and don't know about Louisiana being different, or don't want to learn the hard way. Cut 'em some slack.
People who stop for an ambulance on opposite side of interstate.

so, if i'm traveling west on I-10 and an ambulance is traveling East on I-10 , i'm supposed to pull over and stop?

I've never seen this, but what do you expect when they will give a Driver's License to anyone who can walk into a DMV and has the cash. IMHO, we should have to take the written test at least every 10 yrs and it should be a pretty detailed test. And done on computer, so that if you fail, you cant test again for at least a year. That should give a person the time to study the damn driving laws we have. Instead, we have a bunch of fricking morons driving and now texting while their driving! Cops need to get a handle on the texting shite. Its usually the very ones texting, that can't drive worth a shite to begin with.

never seen anyone do this, but I do HATE when you get over for an ambulance and then can't get back over because some a-hole decided to follow the ambulance's hole right away.

I don't like it, but that's the state laws as I know them.

WTF? What does that even accomplish? Other than causing more wrecks for the ambulances to respond to?

Same as the people who slow down to 30 mph when a cop is ticketing someone on the other side. It's not like the cop is going to get his car and cross the median to stop you from going 5 mph over .
This X1000! They'll even slow down below the speed limit. I've never understood it.

Just like people that stop for school buses

Why don't you focus on yourself and quit worrying about what others are doing that doesn't fit into your way of living?
This is you:

This is one of the reasons I wish we had trees in the median of I-10. At least it would stop the idiots from slowing down to look at shite that has no bearing on anything they are doing.
ETA I thought we were talking about a wreck or something on the opposite side...disregard.

In my 22+ years of driving, not once have I ever witnessed this happen.

Not in GA. The law simply states:
quote:
If emergency vehicles are using their emergency
lights (blue or red) and sirens, safely
maneuver your vehicle out of their way. You
should slow your vehicle and move over to
the shoulder of the road, or if that is not possible,
as far to the right of the roadway or lane
as you can, and stop. You should always use
caution to ensure that you do not endanger
other motorists, bicyclists, or pedestrians
while doing so.

I play tennis, and I say that this just doesn't happen.

On my way home from school a couple nights ago, the car in front of me turned their hazard lights on and dropped down to 30 mph (we're in the left most lane). And of course everyone around followed their lead.
I saw flashing lights ahead but they appeared to be on the other side of the interstate.
Sure enough I was right. We passed them... they were on the other side and everyone went back up to speed.
I see people slow down everytime there's a wreck no matter what side of the road its on. But I never saw someone turn hazard lights on unless they were pulling up to the scene.
