Loading is a myth, your body cannot absorb more than like 5g a day so basically you should be taking 5g a day.
Creatine loading is a myth along with more creatine myths.
I think I had actually read that somewhere as well, but I've seen competing theories on it. Regardless, creatine seems to help a lot of people add muscle mass.
But, from the article you linked:
quote:
Once again, research is proving that less creatine is needed to deliver results. The research cited above also suggests that creatine loading may be nothing more than a waste. Should you load? In most cases, probably not. If you're an elite athlete, a professional bodybuilder or competitive powerlifter, you may want to consider loading, just in case. For the rest of us, 5g is all it takes.

Creatine is useful for water retention in the muscles, helping with endurance some, and pushing out a few more reps but it's not the end all be all.
Again from the article you linked:
quote:
MYTH CREATINE CAUSES EXCESSIVE WATER RETENTION
Truth: More bullshite. A recent double-blind, placebo-controlled study found that, after three months of creatine use, test subjects showed no significant increase in body water.
And for theBoo and his beef:
quote:
MYTH YOU CAN GET ENOUGH CREATINE FROM YOUR DIET
Truth: The average person gets only about 1g of creatine per day from his diet. When you cook your meals, you also destroy a good part of the creatine found in foods such as beef, cod, salmon, and herring.

I get far far more benefit from a solid preworkout supplement than I do from creatine alone. If you don't like your entire body tingling and feeling like you're going to burst with energy then it's not for you. I love it, but lots of people don't.
What benefit do you get? The only thing I get is more energy and a better pump. I guess a better pump can translate into greater gains.

That's a good thing.
Arnold loved pumps...probably too much

Creature from beast nutrition worked well for me.

I actually watched that whole documentary the other day.

Huh, guess I need to read my articles closer . It does not cause water retention. I guess the bloated look is not water then.
As for preworkout, the benefit I get is an enormous boost in energy. No matter how tired I am, I am ready to go for hours when I take a preworkout and when I am normal, it makes me want to run through a wall. They aren't for everyone though because of the tingling feeling under your skin. Some people feel like tearing their skin off because they can't stand it. I don't mind it and once I start lifting, it goes away.

I love it. My hands shake sometimes as I drive to workout and my knee bounces like mad. Put on Tool. Get jacked up. Do a warm up and then go nuts. Love that feeling.
Get it with caffeine mostly, too.

My rotation is C4 or Bullnox stacked with Hemavol. A little scoop of creatine for some extra love. Don't care if I end up pissing it away. I'll get off of creatine for a few months late spring/sumer to dry out when I'm cutting.

Well aren't you just full of little nuggets of contradicted study results.

It doesn't matter the brand. Creatine monohydrate is creatine monohydrate. Just use it with high glycemic carbs. Most people mix creatine with fruit juice.

Has anyone ever heard of creatine enlarging your heart since it's a muscle and all. Personally I think it's BS because your heart is a cardiac muscle which is different then your skeletal muscles.
Thoughts?

I think some of the formulas include stuff to help potentiate the creatine.

While I think that's true, I also think it looks like all you need to do is drink your creatine with a glass of OJ and a protein shake and you'll increase your uptake.
