Geez that thing is huge.

It's 46mm, but that's an internet photo, not mine. It looks normal on me, I have a bigger wrist/forearm.

I just ordered a 36mm. I can't stand having a hockey puck on my wrist.

Tons of great watches in that range. That Seiko Pepsi is solid. Also the Seiko monsters are great watches in that range.

Gaston pointed out 2 very solid choices that I like a lot. And Citizen will make some nice choices in that range. Citizen makes a nighthawk that I love. It's busy but I own this watch and wear it often:

For God's sake don't get a Michael Kors or a Fossil though.

Technically Blancpain's Fifty Fathoms is the first modern style dive watch and they invented the rotating bezel. So it's all a "rip-off" of that. The point being its no more a ripoff than any pair of jeans is a ripoff of Levi's. It's just a style of watch.

I'd personally save a couple hundred bucks. Under 200 is a dead zone for watch selection. It really opens up in the 200-500 range.

Oh I agree 100%.

The people out there that think any watch that costs less than (InsertArbitraryDollarAmount) is garbage are wrong. There are lots of quality watches out there at almost any price range.

there are plenty of watch collectors that will wear a Patek on day and a Swatch Sistem51 the next.

Hell I have a Timex and a Tudor on my nightstand right now

Simple and looks really good.

Granted, I haven't spent over $300 on a watch yet. I'm still an OT poor.
