So it's looking less and less likely this thing circles back to SWLA?

Possibly, based on the forecast track. But, who knows with this guy...

I don't want to give you false hope and I'm not an professional or anything, but there's some chance the *very* worst of it will slip just north of Rockport. It's going to be a very close call.

It will still be a bad blow, but you just might have it miss the worst.

Hunkered down just East of San Antonio, have friends that stayed in Rockport I've been checking with them via text message. They are regretting it now, keep them in prayers, our stuff can be replaced my friends can't. Our place is just north of Rockport about 6 miles are so about 100' from the water's edge of St Charles Bay.

91 mph gusting to 115 at Aransas Pass. I'm somewhat surprised that the anemometer is still working. This is usually about the wind level where some start failing due to damage.

Secondary impacts are notoriously hard to forecast. The initial impact has so many variables that frick up intensity, steering, vertical development, etc. that is impossible for the models too assimilate it all. Just going to have to wait and see on SWLA.

As of right now I'd plan on no direct Louisiana impacts but don't rule it out. Make sure the generators are ready... It's probably a good idea anyway.

Yeah not expecting anything in SELA, but planning on stocking up on some water bottles and food just in case.

Hoping you get a north wobble here in the next hour. Looks like the path has sort of normalized back to the NW. Putting Rockport in the cross-hairs.

Trouble already for Houston? Watch the evolution of that convection in the black circle this evening. The HRRR is spitting out 12-16" over the eastern half of Houston tonight.

The hrrr is kinda bad though. I've gotten to the point where I only look at it when absolutely nothing else has a handle on convection
