Huge if true
It really just shifts the rainfall totals. What was supposed to work its way up the coast now becomes torrential rains in central TX.

Hunkered down just East of San Antonio, have friends that stayed in Rockport I've been checking with them via text message. They are regretting it now, keep them in prayers, our stuff can be replaced my friends can't. Our place is just north of Rockport about 6 miles are so about 100' from the water's edge of St Charles Bay.
Best of luck my friend.
My parents have a place in Rockport on the water in Key Allegro. I might have to head down there next week to help clean up. If so, I can lend a helping hand if you need anything.

Can we say that this thing has officially come ashore now?

Curious as to if the rescues will be as many as Katrina had. Uncertain of the population of the areas getting hit directly with this one tho. I'd imagine most people left when told to. I just hope everyone can be peaceful during all this and not need to loot. After our flood last year the Cajun navy will be there to help for sure. I do feel bad for the entire situation.

One of the local news stations in Rockport reported that 40% of the populace remained in their homes.

It's looking like it. The eye is VERY close to land fall. But it's still going slow.
