How are those unclassified deaths looking compared to 1985 ?

Damn...what was going on in the early 90s that made people want to kill each other?

unclassified deaths
Friend's uncle retired as a JPSO detective and will tell you about several dead bodies that crossed the 17th St Canal on their own from Orleans.

We can not allow this to happen.

However, the Clinton style suicides are on on the rise.

Why does it look like murders started to rise dramatically during/after the Civil Rights Era
That's about the same time illegal drugs hit the streets in quantity.
I think it's interesting to note that rising thefts preceded the rise in murders by several years. So if that holds true the murder rate is headed for an upwards spike. Maybe, as someone mentioned earlier, the future murderers are in middle school now and honing their skills by stealing.

The height of crack wars/epidemic.

Hey, I watched the Wire and im not that gullible.
Cities can manipulate numbers anyway they want based on whatever narrative they are going for. It can get very political.

No one is manipulating numbers.

The homicide count in New Orleans is not manipulated in any way. You have two or three that are awaiting classification from the coroner, and that's exactly how they're reported.
Posted on 10/20/17 at 7:33 am to PrimeTime Money
They've stopped reporting them? Or is this a bad aim situation?

The brazen-ness of the violent crime, combined with the increase in attacks on people outside the "usual" neighborhoods, more than makes up for it. Also, the fact that New Orleans is speeding to economic/commercial irrelevance while embracing 3rd world tourism/hospitality as its main economic basis pretty much means the spiral towards greater sh!thole status is being maintained. I would say it at least has a future somewhere similar to Savannah, Georgia, but Savannah actually embraces its history and true culture instead of rejecting it for shallow contemporary ideological fables. Hey, it was a cool city for a long time. I guess everything must come to an end. Oh well.
Per your stats, go ahead and walk around outside at night with valuables on your person in Orleans Parish. No? Didnt think so.

There will always be targets. Low-income folks (regardless of color) seem to reproduce at ridiculous levels.

The spread of hip hop and gang culture. In 1994 in San Antonio there were 3 reported drive-by shootings a day (and they say 1/10 drive-by shootings don't get reported).

We all know what we can attribute this to.
